HAVE YOU DETOXED YOUR SKIN? WHILE WORKING AT HOME

Healing your tired skin isn’t just about skipping makeup products; its all about following a detox practice.

-sweta

As we spend most of our time indoors, it is the best chance to detox our bodies and facial skin. As most of us still continue to work from home, it’s the right time to do a skin detox. Soothe your skin from the inside out by following a healthy diet, a skin cleansing routine, and an acne care regimen to help the skin shed toxins and maintain its glow. We need to intensely cleanse the deep-seated impurities, the stale particles of makeup, and the dead skin that, obviously is stored in the pores.

Let me share simple home care tips and tricks for an effective facial detox at home:

GET STEAMY

Steam clears up the pores and aids in loosening any build-up of dust for a deeper cleanse. Steaming opens the pores and softens blackheads or whiteheads allowing them to be gently extracted. The mixture of mild steam and water expands the blood vessels and boosts circulation.

EXFOLIATE

As you get older, the skin’s ability to shed dead skin cells begins to degrade, and it leads to dry and patchy skin that cannot receive any sort of nutrient-rich product that is applied to it. So, make sure to apply a mild exfoliant to have your skin shining and bright, even if you’re not going anywhere. The upper layer of your skin can be detoxified with exfoliation, but to enter the deeper layers and serve an intense cleanse hydration and nourishment are of utmost importance. I use Cetaphil gentle Scrub which is an amazing good product for skin routine.

HYDRATE YOUR SKIN

Hydrating and soothing toners cleanse the skin, reduce redness, and hydrate it. Sometimes a cleanser does not remove all the dust and oils from the face, and they can leave a residue. A toner will remove all this leftover dirt and give the face s fresh and refreshed look. It’s essential to use the toner after cleansing and before applying a moisturizer. This easy three-step method is sure to make your skin clean and bright. Clean the face with a mild cleanser to remove the oil from the skin, then use toner to remove the leftover dirt, and then apply moisturizer to hydrate the skin.

MASK UP

Product build-up and anxiety can take a toll on the skin and make it seem dark and dull. It’s necessary to pamper the skin with a detox session and keep it healthy. Clay masks are excellent for this purpose; they bring out dirt, absorb excess oil and unclog the pores. But I used a cucumber hydrating mask from K-beauty for super hydration. Add a mask to your skincare habit and use it two to three times a week for fresh, clear skin.

APPLY SUNSCREEN

The skin can get exposed to UV rays indoors as well. Regular windows can block out UVB rays to some extent, but they can’t tackle skin-damaging UVA rays, continued exposure to which can make the skin more prone to early ageing. So, use sunscreen indoors and reapply it every two to three hours to avoid dry-looking, distressed skin.

Detoxing your skin involves a combination of beneficial practices to restore its natural radiance and health. Whether harnessing the power of steam to open up your pores and promote deep cleansing. The gentle exfoliation that follows helps remove dead skin cells, allowing your skin to breathe freely or treat yourself to a refreshing cucumber mask, known for its soothing properties and ability to rejuvenate tired skin. Shield your newly revitalized skin from harmful sun rays with a layer of sunscreen, preserving its youthful glow and preventing damage. Complete your detox routine with toner and cleanser, working together to remove any remaining impurities and balance your skin’s pH level, leaving it feeling fresh, renewed, and ready to face the day with confidence.

Hoping you guys try at least two to three products to detoxify your skin and achieve hydration effortlessly.

BEST FACE SCRUB: ROSE PETALS SCRUB

SLEEP, DRINK WATER AND TREAT YOUR SKIN

GEORGIA LOUISE

Winter is in full swing and so are the skin issues. Not to mention that taking care of your skin in this weather is not new but still most of us being lazy or due to busy schedules fail to do so and this results in various serious skin problems. Here in Canada, winter lasts longer than in other countries and it’s hard to keep a winter skin regimen for that long. Still, it’s really important to keep a check on our skin hydration as coping with extremely dry weather because it is not an easy task.

Skin is worse in winter as cold temperatures and low humidity levels result in dry air that draws moisture away from the skin. Harsh winter winds and indoor heating can worsen the problem and lead to cracked and super flaky skin.

There are a few excellent home remedies which simply soothe dry skin such as:

  • Applying moisturiser immediately after washing
  • Applying Lip Balm
  • Using Vitamin E riched oils rather than body lotions
  • Nice homemade DIY scrub for removing dead skin and getting a natural glow

Not to mention staying hydrated will rejuvenate your skin to look and feel smooth and soft. The outermost layer of the skin has the moisture it needs to flush away toxins and carry nutrients to the skin cell. So in order to keep that soft look uptight I opt for a DIY homemade Rose scrub from the above list.

Rose has anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, which are great for reducing redness on the skin and treating any blemishes. Roses are also a natural astringent, so they can help tighten your pores and hydrate your skin. I am going to use dried Rose Petals for my DIY scrub as rose petals are beneficial to health and beauty in many ways. They not only have a lovely relaxing aroma but also an extract that contains Vitamins and antioxidants which can help soothe and repair the skin.

DIY ROSE PETAL SCRUB: How to make it?

  • Take a pretty airtight container or jar
  • Take dry rose petals and crush them finely with your hands
  • Mix Coconut oil in a jar with petals
  • Add granulated sugar in the correct proportion to the petals into the jar
  • Add a few drops of fresh honey to it and blend all the ingredients together until they mix up with each other and it’s done!

DIY ROSE PETAL SCRUB: Where to keep it?

As all the ingredients are homemade and contain no preservatives, we can keep the scrub for months in an air-tight container

DIY ROSE PETAL SCRUB: When to use it?

The best time to use this scrub is right before the morning bath as the skin needs hydration most at that time. You can see results in two-three days, just keep on using it regularly

Let’s make our skins breathable and glowing in these harsh winters. Happy scrubbing!!

BEAUTY UNMASKED

The most beautiful face is always the face of the peaceful mind....

Does it ever cross your mind that you can micro-manage your skin concerns with a patchwork of mask for each zone of your face?

I examine the skin on my face and I’m sure most of us find that there are various skin issues like open pores, on cheeks, whiteheads, blackheads, and a dry T zone perhaps, and the discoloration on the forehead and around the mouth. So I was figuring out how is that even possible that one single mask can be used to address all the skin issues.

This is when multi-masking fits in as a one-step solution to take multiple concerns of your facial skin.

WHAT IS MULTI MASK

Applying different types of masks on different zones of our face according to dry and oily areas or to reduce discoloration or tan.

WHY MULTI-MASK

According to dermatologists, the distribution of sweat and oil glands differs from one portion of the face to another, even for the same person. Some people have combination skin like an oily T zone and dry cheeks.

So if they use a drying mask made of fullers’ earth for oil control all over the face the dry areas will go more dry and flaky. Hence it is better to apply a drying mask to the oily areas of the face, while a moisturizing mask works better for the dry areas.

HOW TO SELECT A MASK?

Not sure about the skin type of your face? Identify them by understanding the dry, oil, and sensitive patches. Applying five different masks on your face, almost like a painting. Collage will be worth your time.

WHAT SUITS WHERE?

Let’s find out. I used images to explain it in a better way with an amazing Nordic filter effect.

FOR EYES AREA

Masks with Vit C and K are good for the delicate skin around the eyes. Also, herbal formulations that cucumbers have will help soften fine lines.

FOR CHEEKS

For oily skin, opt for a mask with glycolic or salicylic acid. For dry skin collagen is effective. Also, aloe vera works well for sensitive and acne-prone skin.

FOR T-ZONE

The section on your face over the eyebrows and the nose tend to get very oily. Apply an oil-absorbing mask that has glycolic acid. Alternatively, fullers earth is a great option.

FOR MOUTH AND NECK

Apply brightening formulations around the mouth, up to the neck to even out your skin tone. A coffee and a honey scrub or a combination of cucumber and papaya can be prepared at home.

FOR THE NATURAL GLOW

After applying the various masks, keep them on for 15 min and relax. wash your face, pat dry and finish by applying a moisturizer suitable to your skin type.

Have a happy and glowing skin folks!

Stay Healthy. Keep glowing

These persons have an appreciation, a sensitivity, and an understanding of life that fills them with compassion, gentleness, and a deep loving concern. Beautiful people do not just happen.”

Another problem which is very common is frizzy hair and flyways , which literally kill all the fun of trying any new hairdo , especially braids with partition

HOW TO TAME DRY AND FRIZZY HAIR

What we need

Banana, Honey and Coconut Oil

  1. As all the ingredients are natural so we can see that Banana contains Potassium as well as Vit C and B6, that help add shine and repair damage. One banana is sufficient
  2. Add 1 tsp Honey as it is humectant and moisturises hair by adding shine to it

So lets see how to get rid of them nice and easy

HOW TO LIGHTEN DARK SPOTS

What we need

Lemon and Curd

  1. Take lemons as they are powerful source of citric acid which is best known ingredients for brightening skin and removing dark spots

Sometimes you can not predict your skin, its hard to understand what’s going on inside our bodies which have numerous effect on our skin tone and texture, one such is flaky skin, I usually face this problem during my makeup. Although I already applied enough moisturiser and primer then too it seems flaky and spoils all the fun

But by using few ingredients I can make an scrub mask to combat this problem

What we Need

Almonds, Honey and Argan oil

  1. Take an almond which contains saturated fats, Vit- E, Manganese, Magnesium, Copper and Vit-B2. Powdered it. Granular base helps in exfoliation and remove dead skin cells
  2. Add honey, with its moisturising properties its easy to make a paste
  3. Add Argan oil that contains 80% saturated fats which makes it excellent for dry skin. It also contains Vit-E, phenols and Squalene which have anti agin and anti oxidant benefits
  4. Now apply this scrub gently in upward motion on your face for 5mins
  5. Wash it off with lukewarm water

There you go , with soft and supple skin which feels so good!
