HOW TO NAIL THE DAY-TO-NIGHT LOOK: THE ULTIMATE OFFICE-TO-PARTY MAKEOVER

Whether you’re a career-driven professional or a multitasking individual, finding time to transition from a long day at the office to an evening social event can be a challenge. However, with a few simple tweaks and smart choices, you can effortlessly transform your daytime office look into a stunning party ensemble. In this blog post, I’ll guide you through the art of transitioning your outfit from chic and professional to glamorous and party-ready, ensuring you’ll turn heads at any after-hours event.

Let’s get started :

LOOK 1: Day look

Keep your look minimal in the office and neutral lips should do the trick.

  • Even out your skin with foundation. This is a must, especially if you are just touching up your face later.
  • Shade a soft, neutral colour blush into your cheeks.
  • Keep your lips natural with a beige shade or one that matches your lip colour.
  • Use a concealer to eliminate dark circles and shade a neutral colour into your eye socket.
  • Using a liquid eyeliner, draw a line on your upper eyelid from the inner corner to the outer corner.
  • Pull your hair into a low chignon and secure it firmly. If you have bangs, let them fall neatly on your forehead.
  • During the day, keep your hair polished and professional with a sleek updo, a sophisticated bun, or a classic blowout.

LOOK 2: Night look

Glam up your look with silver-hued eyes and a close-to-messy chignon

  • Deepen your cheeks with the same shade adding a hint of colour.
  • Evenly shade a silver-grey eye colour all over your upper eyelid, from your lash line to your brow bone.
  • Add black lash-lengthening mascara or false eyelashes, if you can manage them.
  • Rework your lips in an ice-pink shade of lip colour.
  • Open out your hair, spray with texturing spray and gather into a chignon. You can also pull out strands and weave them back in with U-pins. Use a little texturizing serum to add volume to your fringes. If you have any?
  • Add a pair of statement earrings ( not so heavy ones) to inject instant glamour.

Transitioning from a daytime office look to a party-ready ensemble doesn’t have to be a daunting task. By strategically incorporating small changes to your outfit, makeup, accessories, and hairstyle, you can effortlessly transform your appearance. Remember, the key is to choose versatile pieces and accessories that allow for easy customization. SPARKLE AND SHINE: EMBRACING THE BOLDNESS OF 90S DISCO-INSPIRED MAKEUP

The 90s was a decade of bold and daring fashion choices, and the makeup looks of the era were no exception. One of the most popular makeup trends of the time was the disco makeup look, characterized by bright colours, glitter, and a whole lot of shine. In this blog post, we’ll take a quick look at the 90s disco makeup look and how you can recreate it today.

  1. Start with a clean and moisturized face

Before you start applying your makeup, it’s important to make sure your face is clean and moisturized. Use a gentle cleanser to remove any dirt or impurities, then apply a moisturizer to hydrate your skin and create a smooth base for your makeup.

  1. Apply a shimmery base

To create the disco makeup look, you’ll need a shimmery base to give your skin a luminous glow. Use a liquid shine-based BB cream for your face to create a dewy, radiant base on your cheekbones, brow bones, and the bridge of your nose (skip foundation).

  1. Add a pop of colour to the eye

The disco makeup look is all about bold, bright colours, so don’t be afraid to experiment with different shades. Use a vibrant eyeshadow palette to create a colourful eye look, with shades like hot pink, electric blue, and glittery gold. I used electric blue matt eyeshadow. Finally, use a tap of shimmery shade or glitter eyeshadow to highlight the hood of your eye and create a bright, open look.

  1. Apply bold kohl and lots of mascara to make the look more partyer. Use eyeliner if you want the more deep look. I kept it optional.

The 90s disco makeup look is all about dramatic eyes, so don’t be afraid to go bold with your eyeliner and mascara. Use a liquid or gel liner to create a thick line along your upper lash line, and to make it more entertaining, apply a few coats of volumizing mascara to your upper and lower lashes, to create a complete, fluttery look. For extra drama, you can also add a pair of false lashes to really make your eyes pop. I don’t need one as I organically have thick lashes.

  1. Finish with bold lips

The disco makeup look wouldn’t be complete without a bold lip colour. Choose a bright shade like hot pink, electric orange, or classic red, and apply it to your lips with a lip brush for a precise, defined look. I used hot pink in a matt shade.

For extra shine, add a layer of clear lip gloss over the top, or use a shimmery lip product to make your lips stand out.

Add some glitter. No disco makeup look is complete without a touch of glitter, so don’t be afraid to add sparkle to your eyes, cheeks, or lips. Use glitter eyeliner to create a bold, glittery wing, or use loose glitter to add sparkle to your cheeks or lips.

6. Curl that hair

Not too much, but just give a soft curl effect to your hair with a curling iron rod to finish this retro disco look from the 90s.

Overall, the 90s disco makeup look is all about having fun and being daring with your makeup choices. Don’t be afraid to experiment with different colours and textures, and remember to always have fun and express yourself through your makeup.

Glittery eye accents and warm highlights are definite standouts for any season, especially when we are transforming from one season to another. And taking this to newer heights by trying on earthy tones is a bang-on! My love for earthy tones will never end and also it’s my mantra when I am not planning to go overboard and keep it close to simple. Earthy shades always glam up the whole look by keeping it subtle which other shades or colour palettes rarely do. You can play any which way with these earthy shades as they rarely go wrong and can be experimental any time you want.

Let me decode one such makeup look which includes all earthy shades from head to toe as you can accessorize this look with a proper hairdo and take this to next level.

Like previous tutorials again we have to focus on three major areas to nail this look!

Let me start with:

CHEEKS

  • Moisturise your skin, I used Aveeno Moisturiser the best suitable for any skin type.
  • Will use bronzer in the end, not now.

EYES

  • Choose an ordinary eyliner, I used Nyx Eyeliner make it winged liner to enhance the look.
  • Well shaped Eyebrows is a bonus feature to add with this.
  • Glam it up with gold or bronze accents.
  • This eye makeup involves a warm metallic earthy shade for an eyeshadow as per your skin tone, I used L’oreal Infalliable Eyeshadow.
  • Swipe up the mascara to amp up the look.
  • You can slightly play with the eyes by giving hint of metallic dab to inner and outer corners.

LIPS

  • This look demands something ingenious to go with.
  • Just a hint of nude gloss lipstick, I used L’oreal Pro Gloss lipstick.
  • Yes, you are right! not a right time to wear statement lips as we are looking for overall earthy look for a face. So nothing works best then Nudes.

Finally, give a hint of bronzer to the cheeks which belong to an earthy colour palette for finishing!

Not to mention, to augment the whole look I opted for a voluminous top knot with geometrical earrings.

Everything on the face feels so real and natural with a hint of metallic glam but still ethereal and that’s the whole beauty of this makeup do! I hope you guys like it and give it a try for your next night out with family or friends.

Fashion and Beauty choices are never predictable. Sometimes you want to go subtle sometimes bold, sometimes glittery and sometimes natural.

I really heart this berry-hued lip colour makeup tutorial. This winter it’s one of the juiciest colours of the season as they say” Berries for Winters”. This berry shade can be toned down for the day and amp for the night and will work on most skin tones. If you love to try this look as much as I did, here is the tutorial:

Let’s start with

FACE

The first thing you notice about this look is that it calls for a fuss-free base.

  • Start with a moisturiser
  • Follow up with a good eye cream. I picked Neutrogena as it suits me a lot.
  • Dab foundation on forehead, cheeks and chin and evenly blend it in with your finger tips or sponge.
  • Using a puff apply pressed powder and buff away with big powder brush.
  • Keep the cheeks bare for optimal look.

EYES

Need to keep the freshness of colours.

  • I am using shimmery and subdued pink eyeshadow all over the eyelids, starting from brow bone extending to lash line. Blend it well with an eyeshadow blending brush.
  • Next, take a small eyeliner brush and create winged liner with eyeshadow in purple. It does’t have to be perfect line, you can even smudge the corners out if you like.
  • Add the finishing touches with two generous coats of a volumising mascara.

LIPS

Depending on how intense you want your lips to look

  • Define the lips with lipstick brush before filling in the colour.
  • Apply two coats of your favourite Matte Lipstick in Raspberry Syrup.

If you notice, the makeup on the eyes is quite subtle and has natural undertones allowing the bold lip colour to stand out. I am in love with this matte Raspberry shade lipstick and always love to experiment with my wardrobe and makeup.
