SPORT IT DIFFERENTLY: SHIRT DRESS

ALWAYS DRESS WELL KEEP IT SIMPLE BUT SIGNIFICANT

***

SHIRTDRESS: SPORT IT!

Shirt dresses were sometimes called “shirtwaist dresses” when they were fashionable during the 1950s. The 1950s version of the shirtdress was launched as part of Christian Dior’s post–World War II “New Look” couture designs, with a full skirt held up by wearing a crinoline. They often featured a notched collar and elbow-length sleeves with cuffs. More informal versions of the shirtdress, made of cotton, but retaining the full skirt and collar, became a staple part of many women’s wardrobes during the 1950s, with designers such as Anne Fogarty becoming known for their versions of this style.

I love traveling, who doesn’t. The past two years because of Pandemic travel got severely affected not only for me but for everyone out there, especially those who really enjoy trips. The world is getting back at it slowly and steadily and I hope things will turn out to be better than before. For me traveling brings so much peace. Recently I changed my Province and planned six days road trip to reach my destination and why I am sharing this as I feel clothing is a very important part of the travel. And dressing comfortably makes more sense to me while I am out on a travel, no one wants to be uncomfortable. I believe while you are out and about always opt for the most comfortable wear. Out of such clothes, my vote goes to Shirt Dress, which truly justifies the comfort level.

A Shirtdress is a style of a women’s dress that borrows details from a man’s shirt. These can include a collar, a button front, or cuffed sleeves. Often, these dresses are made up of crisp fabrics including cotton or silk. As they are typically cut without a seam at the waist, these dresses often have a looser fit, usually relying on a belt to define the waist. Button fronts and a forgiving fit make this a flattering look for most body types. The shirt dress is not only comfortable to wear also you can wear it in like daily, it is also a combination of both comfort and chic vibe.

I would love to style my Shirtdress in a unique way. With this apparel, you can have multiple combinations and can combine it whichever way you like. This is certainly going to rock the look. So here is my take to wear it differently and for that, I added a sporty look to it which gave all-new dimensions to this apparel. I combined my favorite denim shirt and a cap to go absolutely sporty.

You can also accessorize it with funky jewelry. Also, try your denim shirt from the back towards the waist to elevate the look.

Do try this so very effortless look with the super vibe.

OOPS!HOOPS!

WHEN THE HOOP EARRINGS GO ON. THE BOSS BABE COMES OUT

anonymous

Everyone loves to accessorize beautiful outfits and one major item out of pandora comes out to be is nice and trendy pair of earrings and that is none other than Hoop Earrings! I am sold to this powerful full circle. I just love them and found them as an extremely powerful piece of jewelry and adore them to the moon and back!

HOOP EARRINGS

Hoops earrings are originated in Mesopotamia and it was ancient peoples of the African civilization that first wore hoops. Hoop earrings are circular or semi-circular in design and look very similar to a ring. Hoop earrings generally come in the form of a hoop of metal that can be opened to pass through the ear piercing. They are often constructed of metal tubing, with a thin wire attachment penetrating the ear.

RIBBED HOOPS

Give your dainty hoop earrings a break and invest in a large pair for 2021. The oversize style was spotted on the spring 2020 runways from designers like Carolina Herrera and Sies Marjan. Updated takes on the design include door-knocker styles like the Balenciaga ones and double hoops from Proenza Schouler.

DOUBLE HOOPS

In conclusion, hoops are certainly here to stay. Also, they can be however you want them to be – classy, dramatic, elegant, or sophisticated. So don’t be afraid to experiment. We’re sure there’s a pair of hoops out there that’s perfect for you!

ANIMAL PRINTED HOOPS

Suiting mostly to a square-shaped face, these earrings are suitable for any wearer and a true statement piece to amp your glam quotient and add an extra pop to your accessories collection.

GLITTERED HOOPS

I found the secret message written on them loud and clear and it is “Go Big or Go Home”.These circular stunners are very popular with celebs or social media influencers. The best part of this beautiful piece is that you can easily pair them with almost anything: from peasant blouse to maxi dress to band tees, you can even wear them with a swimsuit while on shores.

CRYSTALIZED HOOPS

From big gold ones to smaller silver varieties or round hoops, also other designs feature stones, prints, twists, and attached chains. Sweeping and big-sized hoops are for collared tops and dresses, medium-sized go best with off-the-shoulder pieces and tiny hoops are best paired with headbands and shades.

Try hoops to nail them, don’t wait much, and give that swag to yourself.

RADIANT ROSEGOLD MAKEUP

“LIFE ISN’T PERFECT, BUT YOUR MAKEUP CAN BE ROSE GOLD”

Anonymous

As they say, all that glitters is not gold “It is Rose Gold”. This unique Copper-Gold hue has been gracing us with its presence via accessories like watches, earrings, bags, neckpieces, shoes, and other stuff; but what impresses me most is the Rose Gold Makeup. From luminescent to luscious lids, rose gold is a wearable tone for any daily look makeup.

Rose Gold embodies both warm and cool qualities. Here in this blog, I am going to try and achieve a natural yet eye-catching rose gold makeup look, which you can incorporate it into your routine makeup look books to shimmer and shine together.

WHAT DO WE NEED

  • Moisturiser
  • Primer
  • Lip Balm
  • Foundation
  • Corrector and Concealer
  • Rose Gold Blush and Eyeshadow
  • Mascara
  • Transparent Lip Gloss

HOW DO WE DO IT

  • Prep your skin with hydrating moisturiser to revive dull skin.
  • Apply primer evenly on your face and neck for a clean canvas.
  • Swipe a lip balm on your lips to hydrate and soften them.
  • Blend foundation that matche your skin tone on your face and neck. Use blending brush for an even finish.
  • Apply corrector and concealer under your eyes to hide dark circles and make your eyes look fresh and awake.
  • Take your favourite Rose Gold blush or eyeshadow and apply it on your eyelids. You can swipe a little along lower waterline as well.
  • Swipe a few coats of mascara to open up your eyes.
  • Apply the same product (Rose gold blush or eyeshadow) on your cheeks for the rosy flush.
  • Swipe transparent lip gloss on your lips. Dab the rose gold blush/eyeshadow on your lips to finish your look.

SPLENDID WEAVES

“A concerted effort to preserve our heritage is a vital link to our cultural, educational, aesthetic, inspirational and economic legacies – all of the things that quite literally make us who we are”

Steve Berry

Belonging to different erudition and origins, especially when it’s Indian makes you rich in various aspects. Whether it’s food, art, music, clothing, or architecture India always exhibits rich culture with various dimensions adhere to it. A country full of various languages, food, and varied communities makes it so unique in itself. The culturally rich history of this country reflects in every aspect of its topography. East, West, North, or South you find different regional customs and aestheticism, different languages with different reform at every step and that makes it more culturally powerful.

Not to mention, that this one blog is not enough to have a detailed description or cover the beauty of this nation called India. So going forward I will take you to the topic I choose for my blog today and that is about a few different kinds of regional authentic exhibits, of course, there are so many which are practically next to impossible to cover in one blog, so exhibiting authentic regional fashion which has a taste of Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western opulence with a mix of indulgent hues and subtle details. From color-block separate to Regional weaved Saree to Hyderabadi pearl earrings to the embroidered blouse we have it all.

So I compile a few of those amazing beauties here:

BEAUTIFUL DHAKAI JAMDANI SAREE

Jamdani is typically woven using a mixture of cotton and gold thread. In 2013, the traditional art of weaving jamdani was declared a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Under the Mughal Empire the Persian term “Jamdani” came to be popular use, since it was the court language of the Mughals. Jamdanis are popularly known as Dhakai Jamdani or simply Dhakai.

It is a handloom woven fabric made up of cotton. Its weaving tradition is of Bengali origin. Jamdani is believed to be a fusion of the ancient clothing technologies of Bengal ( possibly 2000 years old).

I have one in my wardrobe for the traditions and culture I belong to. Love wearing a saree, but do not get much chance to wear it.

KUTCH EMBROIDERY

The history of Kutch embroidery is traced to the 16th and 17th centuries when people migrated from the countries such as Afghanistan, Greece, Germany, Iran, and Iraq to Gujrat. This art form becomes a vocation for women of Kutch not only to meet their own clothing requirements but also to make living.

It became a generational art with the skills taught from mother to daughter. It is a handicraft and textile signature art tradition of the tribal community of the Kutch district of Gujrat, India.

This embroidery with rich design has made a notable contribution to the Indian embroidery tradition. The embroidery is generally done on fabrics of cotton, in the form of a net using cotton or silk threads.

Other than various different embroideries, this one is super colorful and goes with everything you wear, whether it’s a blouse or jacket, or coat. It looks wonderful on accessories like bags too.

INDIAN PEARL

Long known as the Queen of Gems pearls were once the exclusive property of the rich and powerful. No one can say who discovered Pearls-probably they were first found by ancient people searching the shores for food. Pearls have a place in Hindu, Islamic, and Christian traditions. often to symbolize purity and perfection.

The principal Oyster beds lay in the Persian Gulf, along the coasts of India, and in the Red Sea. As Europe expanded into New World and pearl beds were discovered in the waters of Central and South America, pearls became increasingly popular at the royal courts of Europe. Until the 19th century, pearls were available only to the rich. Rome in the first century lusted for pearls and didn’t hesitate to plunder its conquered territories for the gems.

In India, pearls are usually associated with an ethnic and traditional look. Popularly they go well with saree or bridal wear. However, the western world has embraced pearls as more of a fashion statement. Ask any Indian about the best pearl shops and they invariably tell that the Pearl city of India which comes to mind is Hyderabad the capital of Andhra Pradesh and one of the major cities in the country for Pearl Industry, in spite of the fact that Hyderabad is neither a coastal area nor for that matter near a coastal area. It has world-class pearls’ availability which dates back to 400 years of the rich culture of Hyderabad history with an amalgamation of arts and crafts.

Not the royalty but I do possess real pearl jewelry which is close to my heart and part of my heirloom jewelry!

WOODBLOCK PRINTING

Woodblock prints are amongst the oldest printing techniques, used to make images. The earliest traces of woodblock printmaking were found in Asia. originally it was used in carved and formed stamps and seals. Classic lumbers used in woodblock are mainly fruit-bearing trees like cherry or pear which make for detailed, rich sketching. in the western woodblock tradition, colors are pressed and applied onto the block with a roller. In Asian woodblock, watercolors are applied with a brush, and inked motifs are then rubbed onto a dry or moistened paper.

As far as Indian block printing is concerned there are only three widely used techniques of block printing in India – direct printing, resist printing, and discharge printing.

So for direct printing sees the fabric bleached first, then dyed and finally printed using carved blocks, they can be of any shape and can be using any color including silver and golden for special dresses.

The amount of time and care is taken by the master craftsmen makes each product not only special but also a coveted collectible for years.

have various block prints in my wardrobe, just wants to exhibit a unique block printing along with some golden thread embroidery in the images.

So in the above blog, I tried to exhibit little something of the cultural history of my Nation which is full of varied cultivation, will try to compile more heritage fashion in my next blog related to this topic.

Stay tuned!!!

YOUR FASHION FEAR BUSTED: PART I

IT’S NOT WHAT YOU WEARING. IT’S THE WAY YOU WEAR IT

..

If you find yourself on the style sidelines thinking, “I could never pull that off,” then it’s time to get a new fashion mantra. I’ve rounded up sage words of wisdom that every fashion wallflower needs. This time I am going to bust a few of your fashion fears. Knowingly that all my beautiful squad is full of confidence, brave to experiment but there are certain moments, where you are unsure about particular fashion piece. You won’t wear trousers cause you inherited your mother’s hips, you can’t wear boots,, you are too short, can’t put Hat as you think it’s plain silly. Am I looking good with this or it’s a total disaster? Such constant overthinking kills all the fun!!

So I am compiling this section into three parts, Each part I will discuss three fashion fears that need to be busted as soon as we can. So that we can enjoy what we wear!

In this part, my discussion point will be :

  1. Chunky jewellery is too much for the workplace!
  2. I’m not bad ass enough for leather jackets!
  3. My neck is too short for scarves!

So let’s start with the first one:

CHUNKY JEWELLERY IS TOO MUCH FOR THE WORKPLACE

..

So your antique silver neckpiece from heirloom was last dusted off at a friend’s wedding. Your Cleopatra-Esque gold Choker is reserved for night-outs. That turquoise asymmetric neckpiece goes perfect with a cocktail dress. But none of these you’d dream of pairing with pantsuits to work.

STATEMENT NECKPIECE CHOKER

YOU CAN DO IT AND HOW?

Pick up a dress in a single solid color, like I opted for a black dress, to wear with one pieced statement jewelry. Keep clothes neutral, so clothes and jewelry don’t scream for attention. And you can beautifully flaunt your heirloom piece from the ancestry.

I AM NOT BADASS ENOUGH FOR LEATHER JACKETS

..

Kelly Mc Gillis wore one in Top Gun with sexy white formal shirts and tailored skirts, but that was in an environment of whistling metal F-14s and sweaty, testosterone-fuelled fighter pilots. And so you’ve always associated leather jackets with a badass personality. That was 1983 since then, leather jackets have been revamped to sexy chic. Just remember the rest of you shouldn’t look like it’s trying too hard.

LEATHER JACKET

YOU ARE AND HOW?

What you have to do is you have to pair a leather jacket with fell fitted jeans and a neutral shirt or top. Semi casual style is the way to go. You can see while pairing your jacket with this style will enhance the whole look and you look fabulous without being badass.

MY NECK IS TOO SHORT FOR SCARVES

..

Your friend seemed so chuffed about. having bought you that classy, limited edition silk designer scarf, you didn’t have the heart to tell her that the last time you wore one, you looked like nature has done you a genetic unkindness as the girl with no neck. You are worried scarves will cover up what a little neck you have, but a little knot knowledge goes a long way.

DESIGNER SCARF

YOU CAN FIX IT! AND HOW?

So there is a fashion fix for this one that is so effortless to try on and resolve the issue in no second. Long scarves in a lighter fabric, tied lower down on your chest elongate your neck and you no more feel shortness of your neck and feel good about it.

So this is it, I hope you found it useful!
