CLASSIC V/S TRENDY

IN A WORLD FULL OF TRENDS , DO YOU WANT TO BE CLASSIC?

-Anonymous

I have a question, So is it Evergreen pieces? Or is Fashion Fad for you? I suggest you must have both 🙂 This post explores the best of both worlds, I will delve into the advantages of both Classic wear v/s Trendy wear. Before we move forward, we must understand the correct definition of Classic wear and Trendy Wear.

Classic Fashion is a style that lasts for several seasons, sometimes even years and is accepted by many people. For these time-honoured styles, you don’t have to think twice before wearing them. Ask yourself if you are going to wear it after five years? If the answer is Yes you know you have a simple piece in your wardrobe! White shirts and t-shirts combined with basic denim jeans are the best examples of Classic style. On the other hand, Trendy wear is something extremely fashionable and influenced by the most recent or inspired fashion ideas.

A simple black dress, a worsted wool suit, a leather bomber jacket, basic denim with white shirts- these are all simple fashions that repeat themselves year after year. On the other hand, vogue design lasts only for a season, sometimes even less than a season. Fancy Fashion tends to be at the extreme end of a design with a kind of vibe to it, which can be retro or luxe or any other but not at all prototypal. Also, they don’t always go with all kinds of accessories only but unique ones.

Let’s look into it:

CLASSIC FASHION WEAR

Everyone affiliated with fashion knows about the iconic Audrey Hepburn vintage look for Breakfast at Tiffany’s. LBD (Little black dress) always tops the list for a typical wardrobe! But nothing can beat the effortless charm of the standard pair of BLUE JEANS https://jeanbleu.com/ Here it is!

Jeans are a forever wardrobe essential. While certain styles, such as distressed or skinny jeans, may pass in and out of fashion, a stellar pair of women’s jeans is simple and timeless. While jeans trends can be fun to explore and style, be sure your closet has a few good pairs of classic jeans. Not to mention a crisp white shirt to team it up with is always a wonderful option. Accessorize it with black sunglasses with a classic tote bag and you can never go wrong. And this comes under nonchalant clothing, which I love to do!

Fashion gurus swear by this plain look for ages. Nothing can ever go wrong with this safest classic combo. An extremely versatile and timeless look, apt for most occasions with elite comfort. Usual clothing style describes a person’s personality of preference towards enduring looks, simple and elegant cuts, choice of fine natural fabrics, and matching accessories such as leather shoes and handbags which make the look wholesome.

Though not giving the flashiest look in the room, time-honoured clothing choices always make a person look good. Well, I feel like a diva when my baby looks at me like that:)

PS: To boot you can layer a fresh white shirt underneath jackets and sweaters. You can conjointly add a silk blouse that can be dressed up with slacks or worn with jeans for a more casual and simple look.

TRENDY FASHION WEAR

Now to compare my Classic look with Trendy fashion wear, I need a piece of clothing with a certain kind of melancholy to it that can be experimental to some extent what else is better than POLKA DOTS; https://www.zara.com/ca/en/woman-dresses-polka-dot-l1775.html it’s very stylish and looks good on all themes and occasions but still comes with certain restrictions that we have to keep in mind before wearing it as it has this retro vibe to it and needs to combine with exclusive accessory to nail the look. And for 2022, Polka dot dresses are more significant than ever. Kate Middleton is spotted in one almost weekly, Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner are fans. At the same time, brands including Richard Quinn, Zara and Ganni have recently launched their own reworked designs in a variety of modern colourways and innovative styles.

Polka-dot-printed fashion is about as iconic as it comes but we’ve seen a new resurgence of the timeless favourite, sprinkled throughout the pre-fall 2022 designer collections not to mention Polka dots always rule the chart for me!

The evocative vibe with Polka dots never takes it out of vogue and it always comes as a breather among wild and weird trends year after year. It is so chic and comfortable and at the same time has the ability to enhance your inner feminity.

Opting for a polka-dot dress or shirt, your personality is probably just as lively and energetic as the playful print. Those who prefer polka dots have also been identified as hardworking and multi-taskers. Adding polka dots to your everyday formals can enhance your personality.

Readers, this diminutive comparison between Classic v/s Trendy wear is always interesting to discuss which somehow is responsible to keep the pace of the fashion cycle going on and on every year. As I mentioned earlier both of these amazing style pieces are must have in your wardrobe. You can fan both to nail them. In fashion always look for a style which is super comfortable and chic, and that’s all we want. Right?

I hope, you find this article alluring!

BATH BODYCOLOGY!!!

HAPPINESS IS A LONG HOT BUBBLE BATH!!

Sweta

Posting something which is practiced for personal hygiene, religious ritual or therapeutic purposes.something we do almost on a daily basis. Bath. Submergence in water helps to reduce pain and inflammation in the muscles and body, and soaking is a great way to help our bodies heal. Whether we’re tense from a long day behind a desk or an active workout, relaxing in a sumptuous bubble dip helps us to wind down, this is what I am penning down in my post today.

Most of us know about various cleansing patterns, but there is something deliciously soothing about a hot tub, it makes us feel weightless. Hot water is a natural and reassuring element. You just have to add bath bombs, essential oils or bath salts and there you go, you can create your own little sanctuary that will refresh your spirits and relax your limbs. A nice planned to bath always gives you a relaxing and reinvigorating experience. Close your eyes and let your worries float away, feel your tension at ease and awaken your senses.

Here are some tips and tricks to get that awesomeness of water to please your faculties.

  • Try steam shower daily. It opens up the pores of your skin and helps ease out the lousy blackheads and sister whiteheads that can keep your need for a monthly facial at bay. Try to aim the shower first at the back then at the front, face and shoulders using tranquil body wash which you can scrub gently with your fingertips. Your back supports the whole body structure so if you soothe it first you will generate your calm cells in the body. Taking a hot shower on the face also helps to reduce wrinkles. Keep your bathroom door shut to contain the steam within your shower area to let open bodily pores to the fullest. Switch to cool water for the final rinse.
  • Freebie fluffy Nylon loofahs are actually helpful in getting rid of dead skin. Scrub your knees, ankles, elbows, and armpits for that squeaky clean feel. Another kind of loofah that works well is the traditional loofah, as it’s an actual seedpod of tropical gourds. Naturally abrasive, it scrubs well. Don’t forget to dot the loofah with a spot of scrub for a quick job.
  • Sprinkle a few drops of aroma oil, chamomile, rose or lavender extracts into your bucket or tub for a soothing bath experience. Those fragrances have natural extracts to alleviate your senses.

I hope these super easy tricks and tips you are definitely going to use to dulcify your nous and going to try this in your following bath routine.

Also apart from those bath routines above, you can also try different types of baths such as:

  • Aromatherapy Bath: It is usually done by using aromatic fragrances. The scent, water and soothing heat generate a wonderful relaxation and healing effect. Pour in a few caps of bubble bath liquid and you are good to go. I used https://www.amazon.ca/Dr-Teals-Foaming-Lavender-Fluid/dp/B0080D1Q52 bath liquid with amazing Lavender fragrance.
  • Childhood Bath ( this is one of my favourites): Usually done by using a bubble bath bomb I usually use pink ones. The practice is popular for personal bathing because of the belief that it cleanses the skin, and that the foam insulates the bath water, keeping it warm for longer.
  • Milk Bath: By using soda bicarbonate. To make a baking soda bath, add between ¼ to 2 cups of baking soda to warm bath water and stir it around to let it dissolve. Once the baking soda has completely dissolved, soak it in the tub for up to 40 minutes. After the bath, pat the skin dry with a towel and use a natural oil or lotion to moisturize the skin.

All the ingredients used are handily available at your nearest store, so what are you waiting for, just try one of these and get a Spa Experience in the comfort of your home.

Thank you so much for reading!

Happy Bathing to all!

TRAVEL DIARIES: DHARAMSHALA, HP (INDIA)

Travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer

Anonymous

So after a long time, I am writing a post about my recent travel to India, where I planned a 3-day long trip to Dharamsala. This is a city in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. surrounded by cedar forests on the edge of the Himalayas, this hillside city is home to the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan government-in-exile. It is a well-known centre for studying Buddhism, its sutras, tantras, and significant texts related to this. You’ll find Dharamshala in the upper ranges of the Kangra Valley. The 14th Dalai Lama of the Tibetan Sector of Buddhism can be found here. Due to the presence of the Dalai Lama and the beautiful surroundings, Dharamshala became a popular tourist spot in Himachal Pradesh.

DHARMSHALA CITY VIEW FROM ABOVE

I was there for a couple of days and stayed on Airbnb named Cuckoo’s nest, the stay was absolutely memorable and fabulous with an amazing host couple Mr. and Mrs. Nambiyal. The premises is so peaceful and serene with a splendid view of Dharamshala town from above. The premises is full of flora and fauna with appetizing seasonal fruits in the estate garden.

I reached at around 3:00 pm IST from Delhi, it was a 1 1hr 15 min direct flight from New Delhi to Kangra airport. The weather was so good and a bit rainy when landed. Reached my accommodation in about 25 mins from the airport with not much baggage, but did pick a couple of warm clothes for the night as it’s usually cold at night. Usually, when travelling mountains I always try to travel light so that I can drag it quickly even in hilly areas or steep roads; as expected my stay was on top of the hill and took me a whole steep path to reach my room, but with only one cabin bag it was way easy for me to climb the destination. It was typically an ancestral mountain house with old-world charm decked with wooden doors and windows and carpeted floors to keep warm at night, there was a pedestal fan in the room for airflow with white linens on queen size wooden bed. It all felt like a breath of fresh air.

After a nice and peaceful sleep, I headed towards breakfast which was made by the host but the rest of the meals I always ordered. As in the mountains, it was generally so dark after sunset and due to safety concerns, I avoided going out and kept all my outings for the other day. The next day I decided to go out sightseeing despite a bit of hot weather and sun which is absolutely unexpected in the month of rains as per locals, as they said this year there is less rain due to deforestation. So I decided to go as per my driver/guide Jai, he asked me to go to the tea garden first and then we headed towards Kangra tea garden but didn’t stay much longer due to the humid climate. Here is a beautiful view of one of the Kangra Tea gardens.

KANGRA TEA PLANTATION

My next spot was at Dharmshala cricket stadium. Not to mention, various matches are played by the Indian cricket team here. The stadium location was stunning but the pitch (ground) was under construction so I was unable to take the whole view of the location. Here I shared one such picture of the location with a patch of green grass left where there was no construction going on!

DHARMSHALA CRICKET STADIUM

Then I left for my next spot, which is Naddi View point Mcleodganj, Naddi View point has a magnificent view of the majestic Dhauladhar mountain ranges. There was also a facility of a telescope at Rs 10 to see a few important spots in the ranges which are unable to see through the naked eye, such as Kali temple which is a small white temple in the middle of the two mountains, there are stairs all the way to reach there! An attractive waterfall flowing scenery was a bliss to the eye, was so far off that only able to see through a telescope from above also there was Triund trek mountain right in front which is so well-formed and a must-go, but you will need extra time for the trek. Other than that, Naddi View Point is famous for its pleasing sunsets and Chai(tea) with Noodles.

NADDI VIEWPOINT: FOR DIRECT VIEW OF DHAULADHAR MOUNTAIN RANGES AND ALSO FOR TRIUND TREK

This location is full of unique local food stalls and cafes to try on; I couldn’t because it started raining then, so I headed back and called it a day!

The next morning, I decided to start my day a little late as it was a bit hot and humid; which I had already experienced a day before, so I left my site at around 3:00 PM then straight from there I headed towards Dalai Lama temple, it was pretty crowded than expected, I sat there for a while to experience the calmness in chaos, which is a must thing to do quite often, especially when life is so restless and you hardly find time for yourself. Straight from the temple, there is a straight road which goes down to the market of Mcleodganj which is full of artifacts from both Himachali and Tibetan cultures. Handicrafts include beautifully crafted dreamcatchers, stone jewellery, gun-metal earrings, ceramics including Tibetan teapots, various kinds of teas and woollens, also“Chamba Chukh”, a traditionally cooked chutney made with chillies from Himachal Pradesh’s Chamba valley, for which the state government sought a GI TAG in December 2020. It is usually made with local Chitrali Chillies. I must say it’s hard to eat that spicy though I am a lover of very spicy food.

The weather at Mcleodganj was cold enough that it was not at all dry and humid like Dharmshala so I really enjoyed my time shopping there. I spent around 3 hours in the market as it was really enjoyable to roam in a breath of Himachali and Tibetan culture.

Straight from the market, I went for dinner as it was getting pretty late, so I decided to eat Tibetan food and I found this amazing place named HOUSE OF TIBET right there in the centre of the main ridge in Mcleodganj. I ordered steamed Momos, one of the specialties of Tibetan food and Veg Thukpa, an authentic noodle dish from the northeast region. Both are supremely delicious but very much in quantity so it was hard to finish. I really enjoyed my Tibetan dinner which I never had before in an authentic Tibetan restaurant. I must say that was an amazing experience.

TIBETAN THUKPA AT HOUSE OF TIBET

So I finished here my three-day-long trip to Dharamshala and enjoyed it to the full. Just one thing I want to mention here is that always choose the correct month to go to this place, as I found a few places hot and humid sometimes, do try to plan it between mid-June to mid-July. Definitely will recommend it as one of the must-go places in INDIA so do plan your trip as soon as you can and have the time of your life watching the Dhauladhar mountain ranges and binging on various delicious Momos.

Travel is a therapy in which people focus on experiencing a country, city or particular place by actively and meaningfully engaging with its history, people, culture, food and environment. It can often be transformative. So plan your next travel and live a little!

HOW TO NAIL METAL MIX LOOK: Here is a guide to mix metals

I love tie dye, metallic, and anything stands out in terms of fashion. If its fun and unique, I am into it..

Jeffree Star

In this post, I would like to show you how to mix metallic shades to achieve the look you may never try and might give thought to trying out this festive season. Let me show how you can channel this look nonchalantly. Always start with eyeshadow. Metallic eyeshadow is always my preference whether it’s copper, silver, burnt gold or platinum all are mainstays for this awesome look which is absolutely stunning for every occasion. But just one shade doesn’t cut the mustard anymore. We need to try mixing shades.

To start with this look, you have to follow a simple guide to mixing metals:

  1. Sweep any metallic eyeshadow of your choice on your whole eyelid. I chose metallic silver for the post.

2. Smudge a bit of grey eyeshadow along the inner and outer corners of the eye connected to the crease. As you can see in the pictures below.

Since the look is all about metals, don’t forget to add Mascara generously; even better if you choose voluminous Mascara, which goes aptly with metallic shades.

For a chiselled look, contour your cheekbones for definition.

To keep the whole look focused on metallic eyeshadow, apply a muted lip balm that will enhance the natural colour of your lips.

PS: Watch for the cut-off point, some of us have natural double lids, but if you have hooded lids, raise the colour a little higher to make it more dramatic.

Most of us really want to experiment with different dressings, hairstyles and makeup. Going metallic in your dressing or makeup never hurts moreover it brings that thrill or stirs to your whole personality. My purpose for sharing this small little guide on mixing metal is; that you should come out of your regular makeup look and have some fun. Shine a little with this metal mix and enjoy the festive season with your loved ones!!

An easy way to battle the heat is by including fresh fruits and vegetables as part of your diet. Summers are killing and the best way to treat us with a cool breeze of freshness is nothing but the Summer fruits which are not only delectable but extremely good for your health.

Seasonal summer fruits appear during the season, serving the dual purpose of hydrating and cooling the body. They provide a lot of vitamins and water, which is necessary to battle the heat. These fruits should be included in everyone’s diet, especially that of older people, during this hot season.

Here are the fruits I am talking about:

COCONUT WATER

A Coconut is the edible fruit of an edible palm It improves your endurance. Coconut meat contains large amounts of medium chain fatty acids, a type of saturated fat that is much easier for the human body to digest than animal fats. Give you better oral health. In addition to being rich in vitamin C, oranges also contain potassium and nutrients, which help treat muscle pain and cramps. Oranges also help build strong immunity and enable the body to fight diseases. In addition to vitamin C, oranges have other nutrients that keep your body healthy. The fibre in oranges can keep blood sugar levels in check and reduce high cholesterol to prevent cardiovascular disease. Oranges contain approximately 55 milligrams of calcium or 6% of your daily requirement.

WATERMELON

Watermelon is one of the best fruits to consume in the summer. It has a high water content, which keeps the body hydrated. It is also rich in lycopene, which protects the body from sun damage. Also, watermelon is an antioxidant that helps break down harmful free-oxygen radicals. It prevents kidney injury and therefore, is a kidney-friendly food.

KIWIS

Like oranges, kiwis are rich in vitamin C and delight to the taste buds. They have a cooling effect on the body and contain vitamins, potassium, and fibre. Kiwis are high in dietary fibre and provide a variety of health benefits. This tart fruit can support heart health, digestive health, and immunity. The kiwi is a healthy choice of fruit and is rich in vitamins and antioxidants.

Be mindful of eating the fruits for good health, be prudent in taking care of your body, and be alert to eat right! Because it never matters how good you look from the outside what actually matters is if everything is good from the inside. So get some summery fruits for yourself and treat your inner organs with good health and happiness.
