DO YOU LOVE YOUR FACE?

“Sometimes people are beautiful.
Not in looks.
Not in what they say.
Just in what they are.”

― Markus Zusak, I Am the Messenger

We all love doing makeup, lighter or darker, simple or creative and of various types but do we ever realize the most integral part of our makeup is its tools, which we use to perform all possible looks we want. We use brushes, sponges, spatulas, or maybe Q-tips. Q-tips are the ones you can use and throw, but brushes and sponges are the ones that you hardly tell when they are dirty. Moreover, the brushes which we use for eyeliners or applying foundation seem like they have only product residue. Brush bristles and sponges are both porous; which means they hold onto oils, debris, dead skin and even bacteria.

So all my beauty with brains friends out there answers me with one simple question? What is the point of spending thousands of bucks on expensive skin care products, when you are directly giving germs-free access?

Let me tell you a very important thing guys. Sometimes just because of the time crunch or just being lazy, we can easily get infected by our own makeup tools because they can be a breeding ground for different kinds of viruses, fungi and bacteria. These can be present in the air all the time and accumulate over time and can enter your bloodstream through even the finest cuts on your face and cause infections. This is the biggest reason why we wonder about breakouts, rashes and other allergic reactions which directly lead to dull and unhealthy skin.

I mean.. it hardly took minutes to clean your makeup brushes and sponges. You only have to gently put them in mild water and applying soap, you can even go for a baby shampoo too if available.

The correct way of doing it is here:

Wet the bristles with lukewarm water and place the drop of cleanser or shampoo into the palm of your hand. Then gently massage the tips of the bristles. Rinse off with cold water. Do not introduce the base of the brush head with water, soap or detergent as it will lead to the loss of the bristles from there resulting in the destruction of your makeup tool.

After rinsing it properly, clean it with a towel, reshape the brush and let it dry with its bristles hanging off the edge of the counter. This would intact the shape of your brush. No drying on a towel.

As well as for the sponges you can soak them up in lukewarm water and shampoo solution, Sponges dry quickly.

Important note: don’t use a bathing bar as it will dry out the bristles and they will be no softer, so don’t use them. A weekly wash is good enough for face tools. If possible do clean the eyeshadow brushes on a daily basis as recommended by the dermatologist, to avoid various eye infections.

My only advice to all of you is just to protect your skin from any damage by simply keeping your makeup tools neat and clean. All the best to you for all the make-up you are planning for the coming festive season.

FALL AHEAD!! let things go…

But I do believe the quote by Albert Camus which says: "Autumn is a second spring where every leaf is a flower".

The wonderfully bright and sunny days are about to get over. Beautiful days of bright magenta petunia flowers scattered all over your gardens are wrapping up day by day. Leaves are about to shed their trees and lose themselves again to never come back. Nature!! It’s time to say goodbye to the greenery around us and brace ourselves to welcome autumn. Time to start prepping for Thanksgiving and Halloween. Time for hoodies and pumpkins with a hot cuppa Coffee. Every new season doesn’t come alone but brings a lot of seasonal changes whether it’s flowers or fruits or clothing or lifestyle. Everything changes as the weather changes.

Talking about clothing brings me to think of how fashion changes every year with a season and how beautiful is that to change your moody hues and subdued palette according to what’s going on outside. Every year brings new temperament of the clothes and their styles. But other than that it’s a huge natural weather change which brings woolly jumpers, scarves, socks, crisp mornings and the chill in my fingers.

Yes, this is so true, when I look around I find the beautiful autumn leaves scattered all over as sunlight paints them gold. Autumn is that beautiful time of the year when one can introduce sweaters, plaid, oversized everything, football, messy hair( my favourite), brand new soup recipes, falling leaves and dinner parties. It always amazed me to see how beautifully autumn leaves grow old day by day and experience the last colourful days of their lifetime. I wish all of us should have a life like that.

From the autumn trees, I always learn one thing and that one thing is letting go of their leaves because letting go always inspires one to grow and that is the most beautiful thing ever. So, let it go and make way for the new ones. Let’s welcome autumn with both hands.
