From the rich depths of royal plum to the whimsical charm of lavender, this enchanting hue can transform any makeup look into a work of art. Unlock the secrets to rocking it with confidence and flair. Prepare to paint your eyelids in a symphony of purples and let your imagination run wild!

But, before we dive into the delightful tutorial steps, let’s take a moment to appreciate the fascinating history and allure of purple eyeshadow.

From ancient civilizations 1using crushed gems for regal eye adornment to modern-day makeup mavens embracing the colour’s quirkiness, purple has stood the test of time as a symbol of uniqueness and creativity. Today, I want to celebrate its playful and captivating charm, as it lends a touch of mysticism to any look, making eyes sparkle like precious jewels. So, whether you’re a seasoned makeup enthusiast or just beginning to explore the magic of cosmetics, get ready to immerse yourself in the whimsical world of purple eyeshadow and unleash your inner enchantress with these fun and quirky steps!

Here we go:

  • Use face oil, to prep for the skin. I used Neutrogena retinol oil (https:///2b5z4eww)
  • Blend any hyaluronic-induced foundation on moisturized skin.
  • Contour the jawline, hairline and cheekbones with a bronzer for definition.
  • Using a purple eye pencil, outline the desired shape. In this case, start from the inner corners of the eyes, go along the socket and extend outwards till it reaches just below the point where the eyebrows end.
  • Use a bright purple eyeshadow and fill in the area within the liner outline.
  • Dab the ends with your fingers because the edges need to be smoky, not defined.
  • Apply a thick line of kohl along the lower lash line.
  • Swipe mascara ( https://4aa5ytwr) on the upper and lower eyelashes. Trust me this mascara is superb!
  • Skip the lip colour and stick to an excellent hydrating balm. What’s better than Burt’s Bees lip balm?

Voila!

As we come to the end of our purple eyeshadow adventure, remember that makeup is an art form, and you are the artist. Embrace the enchanting power of purple and let it ignite your imagination whenever you pick up that eyeshadow palette. Whether you opt for a subtle lavender haze or a bold plum statement, wear it with confidence, knowing that you’re embracing your unique charm and expressing your individuality. So, let your eyes shine with the magic of purple, and let your creativity soar to new heights. May you always remember that true beauty lies not just in the colours on your lids but in the way you carry yourself with grace and authenticity.

Stay quirky, stay magical, and never stop exploring the kaleidoscope of colours makeup offers.

Happy painting!

SPARKLE AND SHINE: EMBRACING THE BOLDNESS OF 90S DISCO-INSPIRED MAKEUP

I am happy to sparkle like a glazed disco ball

Paloma Elesser

The 90s was a decade of bold and daring fashion choices, and the makeup looks of the era were no exception. One of the most popular makeup trends of the time was the disco makeup look, characterized by bright colours, glitter, and a whole lot of shine. In this blog post, we’ll take a quick look at the 90s disco makeup look and how you can recreate it today.

  1. Start with a clean and moisturized face

Before you start applying your makeup, it’s important to make sure your face is clean and moisturized. Use a gentle cleanser to remove any dirt or impurities, then apply a moisturizer to hydrate your skin and create a smooth base for your makeup.

  1. Apply a shimmery base

To create the disco makeup look, you’ll need a shimmery base to give your skin a luminous glow. Use a liquid shine-based BB cream for your face to create a dewy, radiant base on your cheekbones, brow bones, and the bridge of your nose (skip foundation).

  1. Add a pop of colour to the eye

The disco makeup look is all about bold, bright colours, so don’t be afraid to experiment with different shades. Use a vibrant eyeshadow palette to create a colourful eye look, with shades like hot pink, electric blue, and glittery gold. I used electric blue matt eyeshadow. Finally, use a tap of shimmery shade or glitter eyeshadow to highlight the hood of your eye and create a bright, open look.

  1. Apply bold kohl and lots of mascara to make the look more partyer. Use eyeliner if you want the more deep look. I kept it optional.

The 90s disco makeup look is all about dramatic eyes, so don’t be afraid to go bold with your eyeliner and mascara. Use a liquid or gel liner to create a thick line along your upper lash line, and to make it more entertaining, apply a few coats of volumizing mascara to your upper and lower lashes, to create a complete, fluttery look. For extra drama, you can also add a pair of false lashes to really make your eyes pop. I don’t need one as I organically have thick lashes.

  1. Finish with bold lips

The disco makeup look wouldn’t be complete without a bold lip colour. Choose a bright shade like hot pink, electric orange, or classic red, and apply it to your lips with a lip brush for a precise, defined look. I used hot pink in a matt shade.

For extra shine, add a layer of clear lip gloss over the top, or use a shimmery lip product to make your lips stand out.

Add some glitter. No disco makeup look is complete without a touch of glitter, so don’t be afraid to add sparkle to your eyes, cheeks, or lips. Use glitter eyeliner to create a bold, glittery wing, or use loose glitter to add sparkle to your cheeks or lips.

6. Curl that hair

Not too much, but just give a soft curl effect to your hair with a curling iron rod to finish this retro disco look from the 90s.

Overall, the 90s disco makeup look is all about having fun and being daring with your makeup choices. Don’t be afraid to experiment with different colours and textures, and remember to always have fun and express yourself through your makeup.
