WHAT HOME MADE FACE MASK CAN DO AND CAN’T DO

Wearing a mask is not only important, it’s life -saving

– Bryan Health

HOME-MADE MASKS

Vaccination for the Pandemic is almost covering people each day globally giving a sigh of relief on one hand but on the other hand my dear readers it’s happening again. We have to live with the fact that it’s not going to get over anywhere soon. Till when it’s going to last, no answers to that? No one knows! As per reports from John Hopkins University, this will probably get over by 2024, till then; everyone should know that we have to take care of ourselves and our loved ones. No matter if you are being got vaxxed twice.

Don’t ever think if you are vaccinated you can’t come in contact with the virus. Yes, you can! All you have to do is wear a mask and wash your hands without fail. As the news of third-wave hitting Europe and the USA already doing rounds we should be more careful now and keep ourselves ready for the next wave. So to keep that in mind as masks are becoming mandatory in most places. We should behave more responsibly and lessen this COVID spread by doing our bit.

By now I assume most of us have already developed a habit of sanitizing hands and wearing a mask. For me it has become my second nature trust me, I never leave my house without a mask. And for fashionable people like me, clothing and fashion brands introduce amazingly beautiful masks and so on. But meanwhile, people also created homemade masks; kudos to the people who created these masks at home. But these masks come with certain precautions and care.

Wearing a homemade facial covering/non-medical masks is becoming a fast norm worldwide. WHO reminds us that wearing them has not only been prevents COVID but also protects the person wearing them and is not a substitute for physical distancing and hand washing.

Home-made masks can be useful for a short period of time; when physical distancing is not possible in public settings, inside shops, malls, offices, grocery stores, or using public transit.

When choosing homemade facial covering/ non-surgical masks, it is important to know how to put them on, take them off and clean them to ensure they simply do not become a germ/virus trap attached to your face.

ALWAYS CHECK HOW TO WEAR IT

According to Health Experts Worldwide non-medical masks/ face covering should:

  1. Allow for easy breathing
  2. Fit securely to tie or ear loops
  3. Maintain their shape after washing and drying
  4. Be changed as soon as possible/damp or dirty
  5. Be comfortable and not require frequent adjustment
  6. Be made of at least 2 layers of tightly woven material fabric (cotton linen)
  7. Be large enough to completely and comfortably cover the nose and mouth without gaping

ALWAYS CHECK HOW IT FITS THE FACE

The very important thing that you should always keep in mind:

  1. The non medical face masks/face coverings should not be shared with others or be placed on anyone or unable to remove them without assistance or anyone who has trouble breathing.
  2. They should not impaired or secured with tape
  3. They should not be made of plastic or be made exclusively of materials that easily fall apart as as tissues
  4. Should not be place on children under 2yrs of age

Remember homemade masks may not be effective in blocking virus particles that may be transmitted by coughing, sneezing, or spreading of virus particles because of a potential loose fit of the material used. When putting them or taking them off, do not touch the front of the mask/covering and avoid touching the mask while it is on your face.

ALWAYS CHECK FOR ANY LOOSE FITS

I hope you keep that in mind because COVID is now part of our lives and we have to keep stopping the spread by wearing masks as this is the big game-changer in the fight from COVID.

Stay happy, stay blessed and stay safe!

LET’S BLOCK IT!!!!

COLOUR BLOCKING TWO BOLD SHADES FEEL SO MODERN

Brad Coreski

I always try to keep myself updated with posting blogs but got so much delayed in posting stuff which I suppose to post a month back or so. But anyways I am trying hard to balance this with other things going in my life. As I just shifted to Alberta from Ontario trust me its is a big move. Changing provinces is not an easy job.I will share that too on my upcoming post.

Also I try yo keep my blog post constant and write more and more interesting stuff.

But for now let’s block it!!

Being related to fashion with so many years and having an immense fondness for fashion and beauty and of course working on fashion sets for various fashion houses I experienced various fashion trends, transformations, experiments that created history and not to mention various fashion disasters too.

Fashion is one elaborated platform where one can play with all their imagination with full capacity and intensity.

Today I want to mention one such trend in my post which created history, and that is ….the trend of Colour Blocking.

Colour Blocking is a kind of trend which has many “myths ” out of which, the biggest one is that it is not for everyone. Usually, people like me with petite body type always keep hands-off with this trend. As “they say” it is for tall body types with perfect figures to exhibit the colour blocking perfectly. But trust me there is no such thing as a perfect body type and we all have our own flaws. We should love our body more than anything in this world, I do!! and moreover, colour blocking for shorter height do wonders.

So talking about topic colour blocking is a very exceptional trend in itself. In the fashion world, the process of color-blocking refers to wearing blocks of colours. Traditional colour-blocking consists of putting together two or three different, but complementary colors together in one outfit. But here I am trying this trend by using two different colours outfit and then create a colour blocking trend.

Colour blocking doesn’t mean you have to stick to one item. Match a skirt and top with a loose cotton jumper come night time, or throw on a pair of shorts with a tone-matching top. Fashion is all about expressing yourself through your clothes.

First brought to high fashion by Yves St. Laurent with his Mondrian-inspired a-line dress, color blocking peaked in the 1960s and ’70s when experimentation with clothing was an act of revolution. Since then, the trend has embbeded and flowed in popularity, with various color combinations ranging from pastels to neons.

One of the most important thought behind the colour blocking is the exploration of taking colours that are opposite on the colour wheel and pairing them together to make them interesting and complementary colour combinations. It all started as a trend that originated from the artwork of dutch painter Piet, Mondrian[1] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piet_Mondrian]

So for my post I am using two extremely different colours. I am taking warm hues of tangerine red and team it up with the fresh spring blues.

This colour clash is really very interesting to wear. So for the post I was sure of tangerine but the other colour I was confused to pick. Then opt for a colour which is not very common to use with bold tangerine so I decided for specific kind of blue which gives a blasting vibe when combined.

As you can see here I combines a red printed neck scarf with off shoulder blue top. What say!!

I hope it turns out to be good. This combo can be wear anytime which instantly ups the mood you are inane gives a super fashion vibe.

The red and blue are the soul of this post. I used all possible items to experiment with both of these amazing colours which are bold in themselves individually and thats the beauty of Colour Blocking.

Ofcourse you can wear both the shades separately but together they are giving an entirely a different feel to capture. As you can see how beautifully I combined my blue crystallise dangles with my red collared top.

So folks do try your hands on this colour blocking trend , go and play with the colour of your choice, no boundaries , no thinking, splash that little of something everywhere !

Do try the colour clocking trend or make colour blocking by using two different clothing or accessory items , experiment a little for yourself and enjoy!

Happy Colourful Blocking!

FLOWY DRESS AND BODY TYPE

“SPINNING AROUND IN A FLOWY DRESS”

thosegirlydesires

Hey guys, What you say about being in a good dress that suits your body type ? Nothing better than that in my opinion. So here I want to talk about dress today which is not only flowy but also suits your body type. This dress is none other than our favourite flowy dress.

Flowy Polka Dotted dress for Petite frame

I know its snowy outside, I can literally see snow out of my window!! You guys probably thinking why I am talking about flowy summer dress at this time of the year. But my dear friends its fun talking about summer stuff in winters don’t you think so? Dresses are always exception in my post, I can bring along any topic about dresses anytime. They are always my favourite , doesn’t matter what season it is going on! Unless I’ll become famous with my blog and only post according to what you guys ask for??

Flowy dresses as we know are significantly very feminine, movable and always light in weight. They create perfect silhouette. My tribe not only love to flatter this beautiful piece of cloth but also love to level up their game for fashion by choosing at least one for their wardrobes. It’s all about the lightness of the fabric, no matter whether it’s long dress, mid length or a short dress. What matter is the body type carrying such kind of dress. So it’s very important to choose the correct body type for these dribbly dresses. Margin of errors are least in fashion when you already choose what looks good on you and stick to your body shape!!

Breezy dresses are symbol of feminity other than that its always a great way to add some volume while keeping the look dainty and feminine. These dresses are usually fitted at the top and gradually move away from the body and that’s where silhouette plays its role.

Other than my body type , I love to share two other body types for streamy dresses.

For Pear shaped body types, one should wear a dress that is fitted at the bust and skims over hips. The dresses which best suits Pear Shaped body types are:

  1. Maxi dress
  2. Shift dress
  3. A- line dress

For Hourglass body type , show it off, choose a dress that hugs your trim waist. The dresses best suits Hourglass body type are:

  1. Body con dress
  2. Wrap dress
  3. Mermaid dress

Tall body types can experiment with hem while choosing for long flowy dresses .

As I am Petite body type and need to add few inches to my frame, dresses that end just above the knees or below the knees will suits me the best.

Above all the shape and stuff don’t forget to focus on cuts, edges, style and hem. Always remember mantra for innovative fashion which always comes by mixing, blending and experimenting the piece of cloth whatever it may be. Like you simply transform the look of the dress by layering your beautiful flowy dress with a Cardigan , Shrug, Crop top or a Jacket.

For the love of Flowy Dresses

TWIN FASHION

“Wearing the same outfit as someone else can be a blast!”

I sometimes love to try on trends or styles which doesn’t belong to me. And trust me I almost love to replicate them by adding my little sweet changes to it. Most of the times you have to be innovative to sustain in any kind of interest and put forward your ideas, whether it is fashion, food, travel, lifestyle or anything which truly needs proposition in the world, because people love to see what’s new and how it can be beneficial to them.

So, I love to introduce this new segment in my blog which I will try to keep coming every fortnight , in which I love to replicate any accessory style or garment style or anything that catches my eye. This is Twin Fashion. As the name suggests I will try to put forward a certain style which I am going to create here by getting inspiration from already existing one which may come across on my way back to home from work or discovering someone wearing it on street, mall , market or an internet.

My motive is to take fashion inspiration from the original one and try to create it as close as possible.

As you can see here , the perfect combination of bright coloured apparels along with similar bright accessory( I am not sure about the exact source of this beautiful picture) is something that made me replicate it all over again. In order to keep things subtle sometimes we often avoid risking our fashion abilities. But this is the perfect example of taking risk with all the bright colours and ending up looking so fresh and chic. This fashion style gives a summery vibe. Florescent green, ruffled neck dress layered with fuchsia pink notched colour jacket looks perfect for the evening stroll with your friends. Beautiful chunky turquoise necklace enhances the whole look which creates an amazing amalgamation of colours. Trust me I adore this look!!

Now it’s time to create the style as closest as possible. So here is my version. I am not trying anything summery but going to put the whole brightness into the frame of winter styling. So for that I am going to use my neon coloured knitted crop sweater and layer it with embellished pink jacket.

Unite the whole look with turquoise coloured necklace which again elevates the look and feel of this fashion dub and made it look almost like the original one. This necklace is a real game changer. Accessories always play significant part in any styling game. It totally stands out the entire look!!!

I hope you guys like it!! comments are always welcome.

Will soon come up with other Twin Fashion soon , till then keep reading!

Happy Twining!!

PLAYING PLAID

Nowhere beats the heart so kindly as beneath the tartan plaid…

William Edmonstoune Aytou

Hey guys, how are you all? Are you ready to celebrate Christmas !! Tree decoration, gift wrapping, socks stuffings….all set for Christmas Eve. Same here, but still I want to write a post in between the ongoing celebrations as the topic is one of my favourites. As we know that patterns play an important part in fashion. Like colours, we have distinctive patterns which are there to create amazing looks for fashion runways and hit along any given fashion platform. Out of all those beautiful and creative patterns; today I am going to talk about one such pattern. PLAID. This one such winter favourite is also known as Tartan. This consists of crisscrossed horizontal and vertical bands in multiple colours.

Tartan is particularly associated with Scotland. It is often called Plaid in the United States. It is made of alternating bands of coloured (pre-dyed) threads woven as both warp and weft at right angles to each other.

The tartan as we know it today is not thought to have existed in Scotland before the sixteenth century. By the late 16th century there are numerous references to striped or checkered plaids. It is not until the late 17th or early 18th century that any kind of uniformity in tartan is thought to have occurred. Tartan originated in woven wool, but now they are made from many other materials.

Scottish immigration at the end of the 18th century contributed to the popularisation of plaid in the USA. Founded in 1830 by Woolrich Woollen Mills, this legendary pattern comes from Pennsylvania. In the field of fashion, these lumberjack checks play a significant role and already created their outstanding mark. The plaid pattern is one of the most classic and chic of all times.

Designers all over the world keep on creating and experimenting with this pattern in different ways like coloured tartans or plaids which was a major trend last year and this year too. This pattern is so effortless that you can wear any piece of garment with checks and you will never fail to nail the look, be it a simple buffalo shirt or be it a chic skirt along with a shimmering top.

Wool-blend plaid skirt is so classic and a kind of wardrobe must-have. Plaid shirts on the other hand are unisex and effortless. Designers used this pattern in accessories like gloves, shoes, Winter hats and bags.

The best you can do is combine tan accessories with your plaid pieces as they complement each other flawlessly. As a stylist, I would like to recommend all fashionistas to at least have one plaid piece in their wardrobe in any form.

Complete your look with these lumberjack checks available in all moody hues these days. A little rough and tumble never hurt anyone. All the best with the Plaid Playing guys!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!

🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄

HAPPY PLAID PLAYING!!
